Counselling Session

50 minute counselling session from a registered social worker

Hello! My name is Claire, and I am a Registered Social Worker. I have experience working with the autism community, individuals with physical and developmental disabilities, and people impacted by chronic pain, chronic illness, and mental health. I am passionate about working collaboratively with children and families to navigate feelings and experiences, and build upon the skills and tools that support individuals to feel empowered and foster resilience.

I received my Bachelor of Social Work in 2017 from Kings University College and will obtain my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo in Fall 2023. I work from a holistic, person-centred, strength-based approach and utilize a variety of therapeutic styles to meet your needs.

I enjoy spending time outside in nature with my dog, camping, and laughing with friends and family.

My education includes an Honours undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in psychology. In addition, I have obtained a certificate in cognitive behavioural therapy. Therefore, I have an extensive knowledge on how CBT can be utilized to improve our cognitions.

I believe that we all struggle at times and I’m here to walk beside you in your times of struggle. I want to help support families in creating balance, stability, positive communication and overall well-being. I provide a non-judgmental, safe space to work collaboratively and effectively.

In my spare time, you’ll find me playing sports, being outdoors or spending time with my friends and family. I believe self care and informal positive support systems are paramount in maintaining our mental health and implemented in my overall therapeutic approach.
