Counselling Session

50 minute counselling session from a registered social worker

Hi! My name is Dan Edwards, BSW, RSW (Registered Social Worker). I’m here to help kids and teens feel encouraged, supported, and comfortable being themselves. Whether we’re talking, drawing, or doing fun activities, I’ll be someone you can count on to listen and be on your side.

I’ve lived in Sarnia for over 30 years and have spent several years working on community projects with Mental Health Services at Bluewater Health Hospital.

Outside of work, I love watching anime, football, and baseball, and I enjoy listening to all kinds of music. I’m excited to get to know you and be part of your journey.

Hi, I’m Julia, I’m a registered social worker and a mom to a teenager and a toddler! Life can get hectic and emotion regulation and coping skills are not something we all learn. I believe in the importance of working collaboratively with families to best support the needs of their children and teens. I enjoy providing support with the development of emotion regulation techniques, distress tolerance skills, and communication strategies and feel this is an invaluable skill set that can build a strong foundation for future growth. I am a firm believer that our bodies and minds have the resource to provide healing and, in our work, together we will tap into that inner resource to develop resiliency and growth for your children, teens, and family members after a challenging or traumatic incident.

I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Wilfred Laurier University with a specialization in working with children and adolescents. I am also a Certified Trauma Specialist with the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. I have completed a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy certification as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) training with an approved EMDRIA program. I have recently completed a Complex Trauma Certification Training Course level 1 and 2 (CCTP/ CCTP-II) which provides further specialization into trauma treatment including training in sensorimotor psychotherapy and am a certified Hypnotherapist.
